Wednesday October 11 - Week 27

Inspite of Jonah's petulant attitude, the people of Nineneh repent and are saved from their punishment. Jonah sits outside the city angry that they had been saved despite his half hearted efforts.  He is also alngry that the plant that sprouted up that gave him shade from the heat had wilted and died. God chastised him saying you care more about this plant that died than you do the people of Nineveh who were saved.  The framework of the criticism of Jonah by God can be used quiote effectively by us a a self reflection today.

Since 1973 there have been in excess of 59,115,995 abortions performed in the United States. Are we doing anyhting about this horror or are we cursing the wilted plant?
